Green Leaf Counseling Services

Nurturing growth through every stage of life.

Deborah McNary, MA, LPC

I believe that healing happens within supportive and attuned relationships, and that self-compassion is a powerful tool for growth. When we understand and accept ourselves more deeply, we become better equipped to navigate life's challenges, build authentic connections, and create meaningful change.

Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is a developmentally appropriate, play-based counseling approach designed for children ages 3–12 who may be experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or relational challenges. Through the therapeutic relationship and the natural language of play, children are supported in expressing emotions, building coping skills, and developing greater self-confidence and emotional regulation.

Therapy supports adolescents and young adults as they navigate life’s unique challenges and grow into confident, capable adults with greater purpose and direction. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual, meeting them where they are while providing a supportive space for growth, healing, and self-discovery.

Adolescents and Young Adults

I see adults who are carrying unresolved pain from the past, navigating difficult relationship dynamics, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, hopelessness, or low self-worth. Using a compassionate and personalized approach, I draw from evidence-based therapies to meet each person
where they are.

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy is a 10-week class that teaches parents evidence-based therapeutic play skills to strengthen connection and improve communication with their child. Through guided play and parent coaching, children feel more understood while parents gain confidence in supporting their child’s emotional needs.

Parents

I work with couples who are navigating communication difficulties, life transitions, parenting and family concerns, relationship conflict, or simply looking to strengthen and enrich their relationship. I also provide premarital counseling.
